Little Contributes on National Level
December, 2000
Todd Little, Director of Bereavement Services for Toland-Herzig Funeral Homes of Dover and Strasburg, has contributed work in two of the most prestigious publications in funeral and bereavement care services.
1. The Director is the official monthly publication of the National Funeral Directors Association and is one of the most well respected and widely distributed journals in the profession. Todd's article, ''Why Offer Bereavement Support Anyway?'' was submitted for the Funeral Service Educational Foundation ''Business Advantage of the Month'' column. FSEF Director of Education, Connie Smith says, ''Each Month the Funeral Service Educational Foundation selects someone to write a column that will inspire others and provide insights into how to better serve families. We selected Todd Little to write the December column not only because of his expertise in bereavement care, but because he truly works from the heart.''
2. The Forum is the highly acclaimed quarterly journal of the Association for Death Education & Counseling. The Forum is a members only publication that brings news of upcoming events, articles by leaders in the field and information about current developments. ADEC is one of the oldest interdisciplinary organizations in the field of dying, death and bereavement. The membership is made up of a wide array of mental and medical health personnel, educators, clergy, funeral directors, and volunteers. His piece in The Forum was entitled ''Aftercare: A Consumer's Story'', and gave unique insights into Todd's experiences with funeral home aftercare both as a consumer, and as director of Toland-Herzig's nationally recognized Bereavement Services program.
Little, who also serves as national co-chair for ADEC's Funeral Home Aftercare special interest group, has been asked to assist in the planning and coordination of the 2003 ADEC International Conference which will be held in Cincinnati.
