2001 Walk to Remember
November, 2001

Nearly 150 area residents filled the Toland-Herzig Monarch Center on Tuesday, October 30 to participate in Toland-Herzig's 4th annual ''Walk to Remember''.

The 2001 Walk was held in conjunction with hundreds of similar programs held across the country throughout the month of October - National Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Month.

''This program gets bigger and becomes more meaningful each year,'' noted Toland-Herzig's Director of Bereavement Services, Todd Little.

This years Walk began with a brief program at the Toland-Herzig Monarch Center which included: remarks from Little, prayer from Deacon Mark Allison of Dover's St. Joseph Catholic Church, a reading from Angela Rosenberger who has participated in Toland-Herzig's local program since its inception in 1998, and a short video presentation.

For the second straight year, the Walk was a candlelight walk from the Monarch Center to the grounds at Union Hospital.  The choir from the First Christian Church at New Philadelphia, under the direction of Lora Davis, provided special music before, during and after the Walk.
