Little Attains ''Advanced Bereavement Facilitator'' Status

Todd Little, Director of Bereavement services for Toland-Herzig Funeral Homes of Dover and Strasburg has recently returned from a unique, comprehensive training program offered by the American Academy of Bereavement.
By completing the training, Little has received the Academy’s highest level of certification – Advanced Bereavement Facilitator.
The intensive three-day program included work in the following areas: Understanding Mourning and Grief Counseling from Multiple Perspectives, Grief Theory in Social Context, The Loss Experience of the Clinician, The Blessings and Burdens of Caregiving, Complicated Mourning in Adults, Roles of the Grief Counselor and Related Techniques, Creative Approaches to Childhood and Adolescent Traumatic Grief.
Founded in 1992, The American Academy of Bereavement’s mission is to provide education and training for health care professionals, counseling professionals and the general public on topics related to palliative care, bereavement, serious illness, grief, loss and/or other subjects relevant to the field of Thanatology.
