Dover native Tricia Herzig-McKinnon recently graduated cum laude from the Cincinnati College of Mortuary Science at Cincinnati.
She was awarded the Ohio Funeral Directors Assn.’s Leadership Award for outstanding leadership and academic excellence. She also received the Doric Scholarship Award from the Doric Vault Co. based at Marshall, Ill., and passed her national board examinations.
While at Cincinnati, she served her class as student representative and was vice president and secretary of the Delta Gamma Pi Sorority.
In 2003, she obtained her bachelor of science degree in business management from Ashland University at Ashland, O. She is a 1999 graduate of Dover High.
She is serving her apprenticeship in funeral directing and embalming at Toland-Herzig Funeral Homes & Crematory, with operations at Dover, New Philadelphia and Strasburg.
She and her husband Joel McKinnon reside at New Philadelphia.
