McKinnon Returns from National Conference
April, 2006
Tricia Herzig-McKinnon, of Toland-Herzig Funeral Homes & Crematory attended the National Funeral Directors Association (NFDA) 2006 Professional Women's Conference, ''It's All about Connecting You,'' from April 21-24 in Boston, Mass. The conference, geared toward women working in the funeral service profession, offered an array of networking and educational opportunities.
''The Professional Women's Conference is a unique opportunity for women in funeral service to learn new skills, share ideas and further their professional growth,'' explains NFDA Chief Executive Officer Christine Pepper, CAE. ''It's a great place to network, connect with friends old and new, and gain valuable insights into the key issues within the profession,'' adds Pepper.
McKinnon is completing her funeral director/embalmer apprenticeship with Toland-Herzig. She is an honors graduate of the Cincinnati College of Mortuary Science, and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in business management from Ashland University. She is the fourth generation of her family to be involved in the operation of the business.
She was the recipient of a scholarship for this year's conference, courtesy of the National Yellow Book of Funeral Directors.
NFDA is the leading funeral service association, serving more than 20,000 individual members who represent 11,000 funeral homes in the United States and other countries.
