Ada "Grace" DeMonte

Ada "Grace" DeMonte, 89, of Dover, passed away peacefully on October 21, 2023, at Park Village in New Philadelphia. She was born on June 15, 1934, in Guernsey County to her loving parents, Jack and Recie (Agerman) DeBois. She was also preceded in death by 8 siblings.

After completing her education, she embarked on a fulfilling career at Marsh Wall Products until she started her family.   

Grace embraced the role of a devoted wife and mother. Her marriage to Frank DeMonte brought them countless years of happiness and love. Sadly, Frank passed away on March 6, 2005, after celebrating an impressive fifty years of marriage together.

Grace was an active member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Dover. 

Grace's warm presence and caring nature left an everlasting impact on her family and friends. Her memory will forever be cherished by all who had the privilege of knowing her. She leaves behind her seven children: Michael (Kay) DeMonte of New Philadelphia, Joseph (Nina) DeMonte of Dennison, Frank (Ann) DeMonte of Corvallis, Oregon, David DeMonte of Dover, Anna (Tom) Gorensek of Euclid, Teresa (Steve) Penrod of New Phila., and Elizabeth DeMonte of Euclid; 16 grandchildren, Mike Penrod, Ben (Tracy) Penrod & Jessica (Mark) Kaufman, Angela (Ray) Grewell, Paul (Laurene) DeMonte, Genaro & Maria DeMonte, Roland (Jeannie) DeMonte, James (Leah) DeMonte, Adam (Audrey) DeMonte, Francis (Cary) DeMonte, Miranda DeMonte, Devynn (Olgun) Celik, Diana & Dylan DeMonte, and Marygrace Gorensek; 17 great-grandchildren; along with numerous dear extended family members.   

Friends are invited to call at the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory in STRASBURG (140 S. Bodmer Ave, Strasburg, Ohio) on Wednesday, October 25, 2023 from 5-7:45 pm. A Christian Wake Service will begin at 7:45 pm.   A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Dover on Thursday, October 26, 2023 at 10:00 am with Father Jimmy Hatfield officiating.  Burial will follow at St. Joseph Calvary Cemetery in Dover.  To sign an online guestbook for Grace, visit the obituary link on the funeral home’s website.
