Albert A. Miceli

Albert A. Miceli, 90, of Dover died Tuesday, March 15, 2011 in the Park Village Health Care Center at Dover.

Albert was the former co-owner of M & M Market in Dover.

Born March 14, 1921 in Dover he was a son of the late Frank and Grace Tornabene Miceli. He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Mary Ann Miceli; granddaughter, Tessa Ann Miceli; brothers, Joe, John and Sam Miceli and sisters, Katherine Deioma and Mary Bellanco.

He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Genealogical Society, Dover Chapter of the Marine Corp. League and was a life member of the Dover Elks. Albert proudly served his country with the Marine Corps during WW II. He fought, and was wounded, at Iwo Jima, and later was a recipient of the Purple Heart.

A wonderful and loving husband, father and grandfather, Albert will be sadly missed by his wife of 68 years, Doris J. Marburger Miceli whom he married on November 21, 1942; children, Morris (JoNell) Miceli of Oklahoma, John Miceli, James (Audra) Miceli and Jane (Ken) Rinehart all of Dover; sister, Angela (Dr. Hiriam) Bazzoli of Canton; eight grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

A funeral mass will be held on Friday, March 18, 2011 at 10:30 am in the St. Joseph Catholic Church at Dover with Fr. Jimmy Hatfield officiating. Interment will be in the Calvary Cemetery at Dover where the Dover VFW will conduct military graveside services. Friends can call in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home and Crematory at Dover on Thursday from 5-8 pm with Christian Wake services starting at 7:45.
