Albert J. Margo, 89, of Strasburg died Tuesday, March 2, 2010 in the Park Village Health Care Center at Dover.
He had retried in 1977 from Republic Steel in Massillon after 37 years of service.
Born May 19, 1920 in Dover, Ohio he was a son of the late George and Louisa Krantz Margo. His first wife, Dolanda Margo who died on December 24, 1969, six sisters and four brothers also preceded Albert in death.
He was a member of the former St. Aloysius Catholic Church in Strasburg and was a life member of the Charles Hofer Post of the Strasburg American Legion. Albert was an Army veteran of WW II where he received the Purple Heart and the Bronze Star.
Albert is survived by his second wife, Freda Margo; children, George (wife, Beth) Margo of Strasburg, Daniel Margo and Randy Bishop of Philadelphia, Albert H. Margo of Dover, Linda Sue (husband, Tom) McKenzie of Magnolia and Ronald (wife, Patty) Margo of Strasburg; step sons, David Vincent of Mansfield and James Vincent of East Canton; many grand and great grandchildren.
A funeral mass will be held on Friday, March 5, 2010 at 10:30 am in the St. Joseph Catholic Church at Dover with Fr. Matt Hoover officiating. Interment will be in the St. Aloysius Catholic Cemetery at Strasburg. Following the burial a luncheon will be held in the Toland-Herzig Monarch Center. Friends can call in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Homes and Crematory at Dover on Thursday from 6-8 pm with Christian Wake Services starting at 7:45 pm.
