Alice Eash, 88, of Dover and a former Strasburg resident died Friday, August 31, 2001 at Union Hospital following an extended illness.
She retired as a housekeeper for Wallick Coal Co.
Born October 19, 1912 in Wainwright she was a daughter of the late Richard and Rose Webb Plummer.
She was a member of Strasburg United Methodist Church. She enjoyed playing bingo, crossword puzzles and taking care of her dog Daisy.
Alice was preceded in death by her husband Ernest ''Ernie'' Eash who died on July 30, 1999.
She is survived by her daughter: Reta and Harry Smitley of Navarre
Three sisters: Irene Mitchell of Glendale, AZ
Martha and Dale Grimm of Dover
And a special sister: Joyce and Bob Baum of New Philadelphia
Brother: Richard and Kathleen Plummer of Colton, CA
Five grandchildren, including a special granddaughter: Cheryl Bucksbarg of Sugarcreek
Seven great grandchildren
She was also preceded in death by three brothers: Robert, Frank and John Plummer
Two sisters: Rosa F. Plummer and Frances Gamble
Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, September 4, 2001 at 11:00 am in the Grandview Union Cemetery at Strasburg with Rev. Steven Court officiating. Friends can call in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home at Strasburg on Tuesday from 10:00 to 10:45 am.
