Alice Kathleen Amick

Alice Kathleen “Kathy” Amick, 81, of New Philadelphia died Thursday, August 19, 2004 at the Hennis Care Centre in Bolivar.

Born November 18, 1922 in Midvale she was a daughter of the late John and Nena Hallet Smith.

Kathy was a member of the First United Church of Christ in New Philadelphia and the Sarah Circle. She was involved with Navy Mother�(TM)s, Air Force Squadron Auxiliary and Compassionate Friends.

Kathy was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene P. Amick, who died on October 7, 1995.

She is survived by two sons, Gene (Beverly) Amick of Canton and Bill (Amanda) Amick of New Philadelphia; two daughters, Sharon Amick and Nena Amick both of New Philadelphia; six grandchildren, Paula, Kari, Tiffany, Genesis, Alanis and Sara; six great grandchildren, Haleigh, Johnathan, Jacob, Hope, Zachary and Ivey.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was also preceded in death by a son, John B. Amick; two brothers, Homer and John E. Smith; two sisters, Margaret Hunter and Evelyn Cassidy.

A celebration of Kathy�(TM)s life will be held on Monday, August 23, 2004 at 11:00 am in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home at Dover with Jill Lovett officiating. Interment will be at the Dover Burial Park. Following the burial, a reception will be held in the Toland-Herzig Monarch Center. Friends can call at the funeral home on Sunday from 2-5 pm.
