Alice M. Erickson

Alice M. Erickson, 85, of New Philadelphia, Ohio died Saturday, May 6, 2000 in her home following an extended illness.

She retired in 1985, as a teller for the former Peoples National Bank in New Philadelphia (now Bank One).

Born August 20, 1914 in New Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the late James and Clara Eckert Shipley.

Alice was a member of the First United Church of Christ in New Philadelphia.

She is survived by her husband Otis F. Erickson with whom she was married for 60 years. She is also survived by two daughters and one son, Linda Palchick of Chesterland, Ohio; Gaye (Ramesh) Gavhane of Novelty, Ohio; and Rick “Skip” Erickson of New Philadelphia

Seven grandchildren Sean, Kelly, and Ryan Palchick, Anamika, Amar, and Sarita Gavhane and Rick Erickson. Four great grandchildren Chase, Austin, Cole, and Alex.

The Rev. Jeffrey Gerber officiated private family graveside services Tuesday in the Evergreen Burial Park at New Philadelphia. At Alice’s request, there were no public calling hours.
