Alice M. Grove

Alice M. Grove, 84, of Navarre and formerly of Strasburg, died Saturday, April 17, 2004 in Union Hospital.

She had worked as a nurse�(TM)s aide for the New Dawn Health Care Center at Dover.

Born September 1, 1919 at Strasburg, she was the daughter of the late Frank W. and Mary E. Lint Shonk.

Alice was a member of St. John United Church of Christ in Strasburg. She was active in the Strasburg Homemakers Club and also enjoyed her affiliation with the Union Hospital Auxiliary. In her spare time, Alice took an interest in painting and ceramics and liked to play Dominoes.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert K. Grove, Sr., who passed away on January 22, 1991.

Surviving members of the family include: four sons, Herbert Grove, Jr. of Arizona, Carl (Patricia) Grove of Navarre, Theodore Grove and his companion Linda Caldwell of Massillon and Darrell (Yvonne) Grove of Harmon, Ohio; a daughter, Alice Faye (Charles) Sparks of Brewster; two sisters, Artie McKnight of Strasburg and Thelma Mayforth of Navarre, 25 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandson.

In addition to her parents and husband, Alice was preceded in death by: a daughter, Patricia Davis, daughter-in-law, Chris Grove, five sisters and two brothers.

A funeral ceremony that celebrates Alice�(TM)s life will be held Wednesday, April 21, at 2:00 p.m. in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home, Dover with Rev. Gerald Schuessler officiating. Interment will be in the Grandview Union Cemetery at Strasburg. Friends may call in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home, Dover on Tuesday from 5-8 p.m.
