Alma Bongini, 88, of Dover, Ohio died Friday, September 20, 2002 in the Hennis Care Centre following an extended illness.
She was an employee of the former Belmont Stamping Co. (Sadiron) at Dover.
Born November 10, 1913 in Roswell, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Romeo and Caroline Bollini Simonetti.
Alma was a member of the St. Joseph�(TM)s Catholic Church at Dover. She was a member of the former St. Elizabeth Catholic Church at Roswell where she belonged to the Alter Society. She enjoyed knitting and crocheting.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles J. Bongini who died December 12, 1996.
She is survived by two daughters; Theresa (John) Burtscher and Carolyn (Larry) VanAlstyne both of Dover.
Six grandchildren Kathy (Roger) Stephen of Coshocton, Michael (Donna) Burtscher of Dover, Lorie VanAlstyne and Janet VanAlstyne both of Dover, Steve Bongini of Miami, Florida and Stacy Bongini of Shaker Heights, Ohio
Three great grandchildren Joel Goodwin, Brittany and Michael Burtscher and a daughter in law, Sandy Bongini.
She was preceded in death by her son, Eugene Bongini along with two brothers and one sister.
A funeral mass will be held Monday at 1:30 pm in the St. Joseph�(TM)s Catholic Church at Dover with Fr. William Arnold officiating. Interment will be in the Calvary Cemetery in New Philadelphia. Friends may call at the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home in Dover on Sunday from 6-8 pm where Christian Wake services will be held at 7:30 pm.
