The funeral Mass for Amy will be live-streamed through the Sacred Heart Catholic Church Facebook page.
Amy Lynne Cole, 48, of Dover passed away on Sunday, October 17, 2021, at Cleveland Clinic Union Hospital in Dover from very sudden complications from the Covid-19 virus.
Born on May 7, 1973, in Dover, she was the daughter of Jerry and Donna Dillon Cole. Amy graduated in 1991 from Tuscarawas Central Catholic High School where she excelled on the basketball court. She went on to study at Stark State College where she received an Associates' Degree in Social Work. For many years, Amy enjoyed driving the school bus for Osnaburg local schools. She especially enjoyed driving the athletes to their sporting events. Amy has worked for Job and Family Services for 13 years. For the past eight years, she has worked as a supervisor. Her colleagues were not only her friends but her family.
Amy was a woman of her faith and was a lifetime member of Immaculate Conception Church in Dennison. Amy was a very hard worker. She often held two to three jobs to provide for her daughters. She enjoyed working with two of her closest friends on Thursday evenings at Posh Boutique. She also began working at the Dennison Yard and in true Amy fashion quickly made even more friends. Amy’s infectious laugh and outgoing personality could light up a room. Her first priority was her daughters and family. She was a proud and devoted mother. Her personality was loved and appreciated by all who knew her. Her beautiful smile, giving, and humble nature will be very sadly missed.
Amy had a great passion for sports. She was an avid Notre Dame and Cleveland sports fan. She was also very competitive and enjoyed playing and watching many sports including bowling, which she played on a league for many years. Her proudest moments were watching her daughters compete. Amy, along with her Grandpa Dillon, loved a good game of poker.
Amy will be greatly missed by her parents; Jerry and Donna Dillon Cole; her beloved daughters; Abbey Adkins (Logan Knisely) and Karis Adkins both of Dover; sisters, Kimberly (Dave) Watkins of Uhrichsville, and Kelli (Wes) Halter of New Philadelphia; nieces and nephews, Brooklyn, Dillon, Jaclyn, and Stella; maternal grandmother, Maxine Dillon of Uhrichsville; her aunts and uncles, Dave Cole, Marcia (Steve) Helwagen, Susan (Dave) Liberatore, Debby Dillon; along with several special cousins.
Amy was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather; William Dillon; paternal grandparents, Ed and Mary Cole; and her uncle William Dillon Jr.
Her family would like to express their sincere appreciation for the staff at the Cleveland Clinic Union Hospital in the emergency room and ICU who fought so hard to save her. They would also like to thank Dr. Swoger and his family for their help and support over the last few days.
