Andrew C. "Andy" McDade, 86, of (Parral) Dover, Ohio died Thursday, May 17, 2012 in Union Hospital at Dover lovingly surrounded by his family following a period of declining health.
Andy was a retired employee of Miracle Adhesive Corporation.
Born January 2, 1926 in East Sparta, Ohio, he was the son of the late Okey and Cressa (Gill) McDade. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Marjorie (Bock) McDade who died on January 12, 2010. A brother, Paul and sister, Mary Alice also preceded him in death.
Andy proudly served his country in the U.S. Marine Corp. during World War 11 and fought at Iwo Jima. He enjoyed flower gardening and woodworking.
He is survived by two daughters Vicki (Gerald) Griesen and Debbie (Joe) Kinsey both of Dover; three grandchildren, Mike (Robin) Griesen and Nicole (Jody) Stoldt both of Dover and Kelli (Tom) Clinard of Raleigh, North Carolina; seven great grandchildren, Logan, Morgan, Mason, and Isabelle Stoldt, Cole and Tori Griesen and Nolan Clinard and another expected great grandchild expected in September. Five brothers Edward McDade of North Canton, Homer (Jean) McDade of Dover, Walter McDade of Sandyville, Jack (Terry) McDade of Magnolia and Glen (Pat) McDade of East Sparta along with numerous nieces and nephews.
At Andy's request, cremation will take place and he will privately be laid to rest in the veteran's section at Dover Burial Park where the Dover VFW will conduct military graveside honors.
