Angeline Deserio

Angeline “Angie” DeSerio, 91, a lifelong resident of Roswell, died Friday, Sep. 2, 2005, in Union Hospital, following a brief illness.

Born Apr. 4, 1914, she was a daughter of the late James and Philomena Antonine DeSerio. Angie was an employee of the former Belmont Stamp and Enameling Co., New Philadelphia, and retired from Sparta Manufacturing Co., East Sparta. She was a loving caregiver to her mother, and later, to her sister, Pauline.

Angie was a member of Sacred Heart Church, New Philadelphia, and its Altar Society. She enjoyed baking, especially bread, which she made for her family for many years. Despite her small size, Angie loved to eat and going out to eat. She and Pauline, who always wore the same smart attire, could often be found at area restaurants and church functions.

Survivors include her sister, her twin, Pauline Johnson of New Philadelphia, and several nieces and nephews

In addition to her parents, Angie was preceded in death by two sisters, Lydia Fox and Mary Giumenti; two brothers, Joseph and Louis DeSerio; and by a special brother-in-law, Virgil Johnson.

A funeral Mass will be held Monday, Sep. 5, at 11:30 a.m., in Sacred Heart Church, with Msgr. George J. Schlegel officiating. The procession will form at the funeral home between 10:30 and 11:15 a.m. Burial will be in St. Elizabeth Cemetery, Roswell. Following the committal, there will be a luncheon served in the Toland-Herzig Monarch Center, on the Boulevard in Dover. Family and friends are invited to call at the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory, 246 E. High Ave., New Philadelphia, on Sunday (today), Sep. 4, 3 �" 5 p.m. The Rosary will be prayed Sunday at 5 p.m. in the funeral home.
