Ann Mary Bixler, age 82, of Flowery Branch, Georgia, passed away Thursday, January 14, 2016.
Born January 26, 1933, at Dover, she was a daughter of the late Carl S. and Delores Beamer Detterline. Ann graduated from Dover High School, and went on to attend Akron Beauty School. She was a hairdresser for over fifty years.
Ann was a member of First Baptist Church, Suwanee, Georgia, as well as Community Baptist Church in Dover, and volunteered for Newborns in Need. She was very creative and enjoyed crafting gifts for family and friends. Ann was also a great fan of NASCAR.
Among her survivors are her daughter and son-in-law, Debra and Greg Jacoby of Suwanee.
Besides her parents, Ann was preceded in death by her husband of forty-six years, Charles R. Bixler, and her son, David W. Bixler.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, May 21, at 1 p.m., in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory, Dover, with Pastor Andy McClung of Community Baptist Church officiating. Family and friends are invited to call at the funeral home one hour prior to the service. Burial of Ann's cremated remains will follow in Dover Burial Park. After the committal, there will be a luncheon in the Toland-Herzig Monarch Center on the Boulevard in Dover.
