Anna M. Monahan, 101, of Bolivar and formerly of Dover and Midland, Pennsylvania died Saturday, September 19, 2015 in the Hennis Care Centre at Bolivar.
Born January 1, 1914 in Weirton, West Virginia, she was the daughter of the late Bill and Concetta (Emanuella) Marino.
Anna was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Dover and had previously been a member of the St. Blaise Parish in Midland. She was previously active in the Christian Mothers, Charter member of the Midland Chapter of the Italian Sons and Daughters of America (I.S.D.A.). She was an outstanding cook and enjoyed baking.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 36 years, Harry P. Monahan Sr. who died April 26, 1973. She was also preceded by three brothers, William, Jim, and Mike Marino and three sisters, Augie Czerepak, Mary Eanni, and Lucy Duck.
She will be missed by her family that includes her children, Dorothy (Francis) Brogan Jr. of Dover, Patricia Elm of Dover and Harriet May (Vic Corpman) of Dover, James (Margaret) Monahan and William (Mary) Monahan both of Florida and Harry (Ann) Monahan Jr. of Dover along with 13 grandchildren and 36 great grandchildren.
A funeral mass will be celebrated Wednesday, September 23, 2015 beginning at 10:30am in the St. Joseph Catholic Church at Dover with Fr. Jimmy Hatfield officiating. Interment will be in the Beaver Cemetery in Beaver, Pennsylvania. Friends may call at the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory in Dover on Tuesday from 6-8pm with Christian Wake services at 7:45pm.
