Anna Mae Keppler

September 3, 1915 — February 6, 2013

Anna Mae Keppler, age 97, a life-long resident of Dover, died Wednesday, Feb. 6, 2013, in Community Hospice House.

Born Sep. 3, 1915, she was a daughter of the late Russell and Edna Hisrich Keppler. Anna Mae graduated from Dover High School in 1933, and for many years owned and operated Anna Mae's Permanent Wave Beauty Salon in Dover. She was also the staff hairdresser for the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home.

Anna Mae was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ in Dover and belonged to the church's Women's Guild. She had the distinction of being St. John's oldest confirmand. Additionally, Anna Mae was a member of the Dover-New Philadelphia Business and Professional Women's Association. In her spare time, some of Anna Mae's favorite hobbies were bowling and knitting.

Survivors include a niece, Margaret Ann (husband, Don Maurer) Scherer Brunner; nephews, Skip (wife, Kitty) Scherer of North Canton, and David (wife, Carey) Hanni of Medina; great-nieces, Katiann and Katrina Scherer; great-nephews, Matt (wife, Janice) and Marc (wife, Libby) Brunner; great-great-niece, Reese; great-great-nephews, Kyler, Kaden and Maxton.

In addition to her parents, Anna Mae was preceded in death by two sisters, Margaret Hanni and Kathleen Scherer; and a nephew, Bob Scherer.

In keeping with Anna Mae's wishes, private services will be held in Dover Burial Park. Arrangements are in the care of the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory, Dover.
