Anna Viola Ritenour

Anna Viola Ritenour, 86, of New Philadelphia, died Friday, March 2, 2007, in Colonial Manor at New Philadelphia.

She was born February 13, 1921 at Dover, the daughter of the late Albert and Marie Correll Miller.

Anna was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene at New Philadelphia and had been a part of its Gleaner�(TM)s Class. Personal relationships were very important to her. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother who cherished time spent with family and close friends.

In addition to her parents, Anna was preceded in death by: her husband, Clarence A. Ritenour; a daughter, Rose Marie Butts; siblings Isabelle Shuman and George Miller; as well as seven grandchildren and one great grandchild.

Her legacy of love and caring will live on in the family members who survive, including: her daughter, Shirley Ritenour of Uhrichsville; a sister, Beatrice Mercer of New Philadelphia; seven grandchildren, Diane (Marty) Price and Chris (Keith) Baker, both of New Philadelphia, Teresa Zimmerman of Medina, Darryl Franklin of New Philadelphia and his companion Kim Murray, Sally (James T.) Franklin of Tennessee, Sandy (Clarence) Ferguson of Massillon, and Rhonda (Titus) Schlabach of Dover; 21 great grandchildren; 6 great-great grandchildren; and a son-in-law, Roger Butts of Mineral City and his fiancée Wanda Sinclair.

A ceremony celebrating Anna�(TM)s life will be held Monday, March 5, at 4:00 p.m. in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory, New Philadelphia, with Pastor Lomas Shuman officiating. Following the service, a meal will be served for family and friends in the Toland-Herzig Monarch Center. Friends may call in the funeral home on Monday from 1-4 p.m.
