Anthony S. "Chick" Cercone

Anthony S. "Chick" Cercone, 92, of Dover died Saturday, August 3, 2013 at the Park Village Health Care Center.

Born January 17, 1921 in Dover he was a son of the late Raphael and Benigna Pace Cercone Rondinella. Chick was also preceded in death by his sisters, Margarette Conidi, Erma Monticelli, Viola Vierheiller and Clara Casimir; brothers, Palmerino "Pammy" Cercone, Umberto "Lou" Cercone, Vincent "Flash" Rondinella and Ross "Skip" Rondinella.

Chick retired from Reeves after 31 years of service and the Ohio Department of Transportation after 12 years. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus, 7th St. Tigers and the Dover VFW, Moose and Eagles. Chick proudly served his country during WW II with the US Army.

A wonderful and loving husband, father and grandfather, Chick will be sadly missed by his wife of almost 63 years, Irene Zanon Cercone whom he married on September 9, 1950; son, Michael Cercone of Dover; grandchildren, Trinette (Josh) Feister, Alison Cercone and Ashley Crosby; great grandchildren, Audrianna and Jaxson Feister; brother, Theodore (Mary) Rondinella of Dover; brothers in law, Reynolds Casimir and Peo Zanon; sisters in law, Evelyn Rondinella and Margie Zanon and many nieces and nephews.

Cremation has been entrusted to the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home and Crematory at Dover. A memorial mass will be held on Tuesday, August 6 at 10:00 am in the St. Joseph Catholic Church at Dover with Fr. Jimmy Hatfield officiating. Friends can call at the church one hour prior to the service on Tuesday. Interment of the ashes will be in the St. Joseph Calvary Cemetery at Dover.
