Antonio C. “Tony” Lowery (Joshua Ross), 46, of Los Angeles, California and formerly of Dover, Ohio died Sunday, May 13, 2001 at his home following natural causes.
Born May 27, 1954 in Dover, he was the son of Mary Lou (Rev. Franklin D.) Ross Tucker of Texarkana, Texas and Charles (Vernonica) Lowery of Gary, Indiana.
Tony enjoyed writing, art, and religion. He was a 1972 graduate of Canton McKinley High School where he was an original member of the Evolution of Soul. He served in the U.S. Marine Corp. and attended Kent State University and Columbia College in Missouri. He was also a member of the Omega Phi Psi fraternity.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by four brothers and two sisters
Rev. Christopher (Cheryl) Lowery of Dover, Zina Hope Henson of Texarkana, Lynn E. (Jenny) Lowery of Michigan City, Indiana, Michael T. (Tracy) Lowery of Vallejo, California, Gerald H. (Mable) Lowery and Myra L. Burns both of Texarkana and many nieces, nephews, aunts, and uncles including two special nieces, Michelle L. and Antoinette G. Nash of Texarkana.
Funeral Services will be held Saturday, May 26, 2001 at 1 PM in the First Baptist Church at Dover with Revs. Toni Pugh and Chris Lowery officiating. Interment will be in the Dover Burial Park. Friends may call at the church on Saturday from noon until 1 pm.
