April B. Coventry, 61, passed away on Thursday, June 24, 2021 at Union Hospital following a brief illness.
She was born on April 12, 1960 in Wheeling, West Virginia and was a daughter of the late William Bose and Janet Wright Horton. April was also preceded in death by her step-father, Jim Horton Sr.; brother, Jimmy Horton Jr.; and sister, Peggy Appel.
April was a long-time and dedicated employee at Zimmer Biomet in Dover, having worked there for 39 years. She was involved in many different aspects within the company, but was known for planning the annual summer picnic and being on the Employee Engagement Committee. When her daughters were in high school, she was active with the PTG and the Dover Band Boosters. Always one to be involved, you could find April donating her time and talents for most community projects, Dover was truly her home. She was also proud of the fact that her family had owned and operated the Clendening Marina for many generations. In her spare time, April loved spending time with her family, playing with her dogs, Otis and Porkchop, and crocheting.
A wonderful and loving wife, mother and sister, April will be sadly missed by her husband, Jay Coventry, whom she married on September 14, 1991, and have been together for the past 41 years; daughters, Karli Coventry of Dover, Hannah (Maverick) Kostich of North Canton; siblings, Patti Pruitt of New Philadelphia, Liz (Mike) Hageter of St. Clairsville, Jennifer (Allan) Smith of Missouri and her sister in law, Karen Horton of Shadyside.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, June 29th starting at 11:00 am in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home and Crematory at Dover with Rev. David Wing officiating. Interment will be at the Dover Burial Park. The family will be greeting friends on Monday from 4-7 pm.
