Arthur F. Strauss

Arthur F. Strauss, 86, of New Philadelphia died Saturday, December 4, 2004 at Morning View Care Center following an extended illness.

He retired as the Postmaster in Strasburg and he also owned the Strauss Haus Tavern in New Philadelphia.

Born January 15, 1918 in Dundee he was a son of the late Arthur A. and Nora Nicewander Strauss.

He enjoyed woodworking and was active in the Democratic Party.

Arthur was preceded in death by his wife Marilyn Kenny Strauss who passed away on April 15, 1983.

He is survived by two sons, Richard (Teresa) Strauss of Lodi, John “Jay” (Suzanna) Strauss of Strasburg; two daughters, Ronda Renner of Barberton and Colleen (Eugene “Bud”) Everett of New Philadelphia; two sisters, Margurite (Raymond) Donato of Strasburg and Eileen Watson of Dover; 14 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.

Arthur was also preceded in death by a brother, John Strauss and a sister, Annabelle Shroyer.

Private family services will be held. There are no public calling hours. Interment will be at the Grandview Union Cemetery in Strasburg. Those wishing to express their fondest memories of Arthur may do so by visiting the on line obituaries link on the funeral homes website.
