Augie Marino Czerepak

August 2, 1920 — May 3, 2010

Augustine N. "Augie" Czerepak, 89, of the Park Village Health Care Center and formerly of Miller Ave. N.W., New Philadelphia died on her wedding anniversary Monday, May 3, 2010 in the center following a long period of declining health.

She formerly owned and operated the Four Seasons Restaurant in New Philadelphia.

Augie was born August 2, 1920 in Weirton, West Virginia, the daughter of the late William and Concetta (Emanuella) Marino.

She was an active member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Dover and was a member of the Diocesan Council of Catholic Women, Secular Franciscans, and the former Christian Mothers. She also was previously active in the Girl Scout program and was a member of the first girl scout troop in Weirton. She was instrumental in bring the Recovery Group to Tuscarawas County. Augie was a tremendous cook and was known for her homemade spaghetti, lemon meringue pie and apple strudels.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 61 years, Philip S. Czerepak on September 26, 2002. She was also preceded by her son, David; two brothers Bill Marino and Jim Marino; two sisters, Mary Eanni and Lucy Duck and two nephews, David and Trent Ciarrocchi.

She is survived by her daughter and son in law Mary (Jim) Elco of New Philadelphia; three grandchildren, John (Christina) Czerepak of Florida, 2LT Jack Elco of Hope Mills, North Carolina, and Katie Elco of New Philadelphia; three great grandchildren Sadie, Logan and Hailie; a sister, Anne Monahan of Bolivar and a brother Mike "Spike" (Margaret) Marino of Dover along with 36 nieces and nephews who called her "Aunt Doggie."

A funeral mass will be celebrated Friday, May 7, 2010 at 11am in the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Dover with Fr. Anthony Lonzo officiating. She will be laid to rest beside her husband, Phil at Calvary Cemetery in Dover. A reception will follow in the Toland-Herzig Monarch Center. Friends may call at the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory in Dover on Thursday from 5-8pm. Christian Wake services will be Thursday at 7:45pm. Friends may also call Friday from 9:30am-10:30 am in the funeral home.
