Augusta Van Sickle

Augusta Van Sickle, 87, of New Philadelphia passed away unexpectedly at her home on Monday, December 26, 2022.

Born on February 8, 1935 in Flushing, Ohio she was a daughter of the late Herman and Luella Albus Ensley. Augusta was also preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Van Sickle on January 10, 2021, three infant brothers and her sister, Loretta Zito.

She had been employed at several restaurants in the area as a waitress. She was a member of the New Philadelphia Fire Department Auxiliary and the National Guard Family Support Group.

A wonderful and loving mother and grandmother, Augusta will be sadly missed by her children, Robert Korns of Kentucky, Anthony (Georgie) Korns of Dover, John Korns of Bexley, Mary (Randy) Yonally of Parral, Russell (Amy) Korns of Dover; step daughter, Lisa (Joel) Watson of New Philadelphia; sisters, Ida Barlock, Dorothy (Larry) Wilson both of New Philadelphia; brother, Ken (Bev) Ensley of Massillon; nine grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.

A service celebrating Augusta’s life will be held on Saturday, December 31st starting at 11:00 am in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home and Crematory at Dover with Pastor John Wallace officiating. The family will be greeting friends one hour prior to the service on Saturday.
