Barbara A. Diehl, 83, of Massillon, passed away Saturday, December 23, 2017 in her home following an extended illness.
Born April 4, 1934 in Dover she was the daughter of the late Howard and Ruth Swinderman Heidy. Barbara was a 1952 graduate of Dover High School and received her Bachelor’s Degree from Wittenberg University. She worked at Aultman Hospital for many years, and with numerous doctors’ offices throughout the area. Barbara was a member of St. Stephen Martyr Lutheran Church in Canton and the Akron Society of Artists. Her passion was painting in watercolors, and was well known for her paintings and drawings.
Barbara is survived by her husband of 23 years, Roger Diehl, whom she married on August 27, 1994; children, Keri Hoffer of Malvern, Greg (Donna) Dressel of North Carolina, Brian Diehl of Chagrin Falls, Susan (Lin) Sellman of Dallas; grandchildren, Molly, Amanda, Zachery, Alec, Jaime, Josh, Jessie; great grandchildren, Raelyn and Hayes.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, December 28 at 11:00 am in the St. Stephen Martyr Lutheran Church at Canton with Pastor Bruce Roth officiating. Interment will be at the Evergreen Burial Park in New Philadelphia. Visitation will be from 10-11:00 am at the church on Thursday. The Toland-Herzig Funeral Home and Crematory at Dover is handling arrangements.
