Barbara Davis Matronia, 59, of Dover, died suddenly Sunday, July 3, 2011, in her home.
Born March 20, 1952 at Canton, she was the daughter of the late Frank "Sam" and Marjorie Hawk Davis, Sr.
A graduate of Canton South High School and Kent State University, Barbara was a retired Social Worker having worked with Tuscarawas County Job & Family Services.
She enjoyed gardening, decorating around the home, and was known as an excellent cook.
September 18th would have marked the 40th wedding anniversary with her husband, Earl Matronia, who survives.
Other surviving family members include: her sons, John (Jessica) Matronia of Dover, Erick (Shawn) Russell of Texas, Nelson Russell of Texas; daughter, Regina Matronia of Canton; four grandchildren, Clair Zuchegno, Xeelia Matronia, Christopher Mathias and Mason Matronia; a great grandson, Kayden Mathias; three brothers, Frank "Sam" Davis, Jr., Mike (Sherry) Davis and Tom (Sandra) Davis, both of Columbus; and many nieces and nephews.
Along with her parents, her daughter, Lesli A. Matronia Zuchegno, and her father-in-law, Derald Powell, preceded Barbara in death.
A funeral service that celebrates her life will be held, Friday, July 8, at 1:00 p.m. in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory, New Philadelphia. Burial will follow in the Dover Burial Park. Friends may call in the funeral home one hour prior to services.

The family suggests that memorial gifts be made to a fund that had been set-up for Barbara's granddaughter, Clair, through any branch of the Dover-Phila Federal Credit Union.
