Barbara Ellen Friscat

Barbara E. Friscat, 64, of Bolivar passed away on Sunday, December 7, 2014 at Mercy Medical Center in Canton following a courageous battle with cancer.

Born on May 29, 1950 in Massillon, she was the daughter of the late Charles E. and Amelia F. (Savage) Gore. A 1968 graduate of Massillon High School, she worked at AEP and retired from AT&T following 28 years of service.

Barbara was member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Bolivar for many years. She was a member of the Tusco Gun Club and was an excellent shot. She leaves a legacy of generosity and kindness to others. She was a faithful volunteer and believed in giving to all in need. Barbara was an animal lover and leaves behind many K-9 companions whom adopted her over the years.

She will be sadly missed by her son; John Friscat II of Broadview Heights; longtime companion, Steve Hoel of Bolivar; her twin brother, Charles J. (Nila) Gore of Canton; sister, Debra (William) Jessup of Newcomerstown; and her former husband, John Friscat of Bolivar.

In honoring Barbara's wishes, cremation has been entrusted to the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory in Dover. A memorial mass will be held at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Bolivar on Friday, December 12, 2014 at 10:00 am with Father Ty Tomson officiating. Friends are invited to call at the church on Friday from 9:00 am until the service starts at 10:00 am. Following the mass, a meal will be served in the church social hall.
