Beatrice A. “Bea” Levengood, 76, of Bolivar, Ohio died Tuesday, March 20, 2007 at the Massillon Campus of Affinity Health Care in Massillon following a brief illness.
Bea retired in 1999, as Service Representative for the Social Security Administration in New Philadelphia where she worked for 25 years. Following retirement, she was a volunteer at Union Hospital.
Born March 17, 1931 in Bolivar, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Anola Maurer Widder. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Earl E. Levengood who died February 14, 1993. They were married October 21, 1950. In addition to her husband, she was preceded by a grandson, Bryan Levengood, two great grandchildren, Randi and Samantha Soehnlen along with three brothers and one sister.
Bea was a member of St. John�(TM)s United Church of Christ in Bolivar where she served as Sunday School Superintendent for forty seven years. She was also a member of the Eastern Star in Bolivar and formerly served as Clerk and treasurer for the Village of Bolivar.
She is survived by four children; Randy (Debbie Hayes) Levengood of Bolivar, Sandy (Glen) Archinal of Akron, Kandy (Scott) Simmons of Bolivar and Dan (Lorrie Eshelman) Levengood of Canton; ten grandchildren, Jennifer (Dan) Soehnlen, Miranda Levengood, Melissa (Scott) Weaver, Lisa (Sam) Lenarz, Gregory Archinal and Jeffrey Archinal, Eric and Kelly Simmons, Megan and Katelyn Levengood and fourteen great grandchildren. She is also survived by four sisters, Helen Finzer of Sugarcreek, Thelma Morrison of Bolivar, Ada Myers of Strasburg, and Alice Cappelli of Nokomis, Florida and a sister in law, Anna Loretta Zimmerman of Dover.
A funeral service celebrating Bea�(TM)s life will be held Friday, March 23, 2007 at 2pm in the St. John�(TM)s United Church of Christ at Bolivar with Pastor Carol Clements officiating. Interment will be in the Ft. Laurens Cemetery at Bolivar. Friends may call at the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory in Dover on Thursday from 5-8pm. Friends may also call Friday at the church one hour prior to services.
