Beatrice F. Espenschied, 99, of Dover died suddenly at her home on Sunday, September 28, 2014.
Born August 25, 1915 in Strasburg she was a daughter of the late Monroe and Flossie Widder Mast. Beatrice was also preceded in death by her husband, Leroy F. Espenschied on February 12, 1991; daughter, Ann Harmon; son, Gene Espenschied and two brothers, Ray and Rudy Mast.
She retired in 1985 from Dover South Elementary School having worked in the cafeteria after many years of service and was a long time member of Ruslin Hills Church. Beatrice was an avid sports fan who loved watching the Cleveland Indians and Dover High School football and basketball. She also enjoyed working in her garden and taking care of her flowers.
A wonderful and loving mother and grandmother, Beatrice will be sadly missed by her sons, Keith (Ruth) Espenschied and Marion Espenschied and companion, Michelle Mizer all of Dover; ten grandchildren, nine great grandchildren; two nieces and two nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, October 1 at 11:00 am in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home and Crematory at Dover with Pastor Duane Houser officiating. Interment will be at the Dover Burial Park. Friends can call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 5-8 pm.
