Benjamin J. Feutz

Benjamin J. Feutz, 90, of Dover died Sunday, March 30, 2008 at Union Hospital.

Born August 3, 1917 in Dover he was a son of the late James and Flossie Haswell Feutz. His sister, Margaret Berlyoung, also preceded him in death.

He retired from Ferris Chevrolet in New Philadelphia and had been a long time mechanic at the former Haas Chevrolet in Strasburg. Ben was also a well-known school bus driver for the Strasburg School District for many years.

He was a member of St. John United Church of Christ in Strasburg, the International Machinist and Aerospace Workers Union # 1369, and was also an Army veteran of WW II. Ben was an exceptional gardener and he took great pride in his produce. He also enjoyed traveling and history, especially the Civil War.

A loving husband, father and grandfather, Ben will be sadly missed by his wife of 66 years, Nelle Moss Feutz whom he married on August 23, 1941. He is also survived by four children, Cheryl Feutz of New Philadelphia, Peg Reichman of Dover, Ben (Fae) Feutz of Dover and Greg Feutz of Gnadenhutten; brother, Herb Feutz of Dover; three grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, April 2, 2008 at 11:00 am in the St. John United Church of Christ at Strasburg with Pastor Gary Friend officiating. Interment will be in the Grandview Union Cemetery at Strasburg. Friends can call in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Homes and Crematory at Dover from 5-8 pm.
