Bernice I. Welsch, 70, of Franklin Terrace, Strasburg, Ohio died Saturday, June 8, 2002 at Union Hospital following a brief illness.
She operated the former Camelot Beauty Salon at Strasburg. She was also an employee of the former Town House and Cindy�(TM)s Restaurants both in Strasburg.
Born February 25, 1932 in Zoar, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Thomas H. and Ethel Solley Smith.
Bernice attended the Zoar United Church of Christ and its church guild. She enjoyed camping and fishing with family, babysitting grandchildren, visiting with nieces and nephews, and having coffee with her friends at Franklin Terrace.
She is survived by three daughters and two sons;
Linda (Merle) Ward of Strasburg; Judy (David) Prince of Dover; Becky (Ernesto) Rivera of Redlands, California; Ricky A. Welsch and Todd (Tracy) Welsch both of Strasburg;
Three brothers and three sisters Ronald (Ginny) Smith of New Philadelphia; Barbara Norman of Strasburg; John Smith and James Smith both of New Philadelphia; Sandy Tyson of Port Washington; Sally (Mike) Meachan of Dover
Thirteen grandchildren, ten great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by one brother, Tom Smith.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, June 11. 2002 at 7 pm in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home at Dover with Rev. W. Eric Walch officiating. Cremation will follow the services. Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 6-7 pm.
