Betty E. Breehl, 87, of New Philadelphia, died Friday, Jul 31, 2009.
Born, Jun. 10, 1922, in New Philadelphia, she was a daughter of the late Albert and Cecelia Gregory McMillen. Betty married George F. Breehl on Nov. 11, 1940, in St. John's Church, Canton. She was a hard-working, generous and fun-loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother, who always put family first. She was a member of Sacred Heart Church in New Philadelphia, where, years ago, she donated her time and love in working with handicapped children. She was passionate about gardening and yard-work, always striving to beautify her surroundings. She especially enjoyed spending time with family and friends on her patio.
Betty and George visited all of the fifty United States except Alaska. They also enjoyed vacations to Spain, Mexico and Bermuda. Betty loved shopping trips, be they in Canton or New York City. She will be sadly missed by her dear, supportive best friend, Rita Contini of New Philadelphia, with whom she spent countless hours dining out and, again one of her favorite activities, shopping.
