Betty E. Wigfield

Betty E. Wigfield, age 85, of New Philadelphia, and a long-time resident of Waynesburg, died Sunday, July 28, 2013, in Schoenbrunn Healthcare Center.

Born June 21, 1928 in New Philadelphia, she was a daughter of the late Herman C. and
1946, married Orville K. Wigfield. She was a loving homemaker who had a kind heart and fondness for animals, taking special care of the dogs she owned over the years. In her later years, she enjoyed coloring the many coloring books that were given to her.

Survivors include her daughter, Grace McGuire of Newcomerstown; her son, Kenneth D. (Donna) Wigfield of Canton; her seven grandchildren, Paul W. Maxhimer, III, Rhonda L. Kennedy, Tonya Len Maxhimer, Amanda M. Winbush, Jacob, Kenneth D. and Shawn Wigfield; two great-grandchildren, Ronald and Christina Kennedy; and her eight great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved Orville on November 28, 1991; her daughter, Brenda S. Wigfield; her sons, Orville and Richard Wigfield, and Ronald L. Wigfield, who was killed in the Viet Nam War; her grandson, William D. Maxhimer; her two sisters; and her two brothers.

Family and friends are invited to call at the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory, 246 E. High Ave., New Philadelphia, on Wednesday, July 31, 4 7 p.m. A funeral service will be held Thursday, August 1, at 1:30 p.m. in the funeral home with Elder Glenn R. Carlisle officiating. Burial will be in East Avenue Cemetery, New Philadelphia. Following the committal, there will be a luncheon in the Toland-Herzig Monarch Center on the Boulevard in Dover.
