Betty J. Dorsey

Betty J. Dorsey, 85, of Dover died Friday, January 8, 2010 at Aultman Hospital surrounded by her family.

She had retired in 1984 from Furon Fluorocarbon after 20 years of service.

Born October 2, 1924 in Dover she was a daughter of the late William and Goldie Rummel Espenschied. Betty was also preceded in death by her husband, Warren V. Dorsey who died on December 11, 2001; son, Vince Dorsey; brother, Earl Espenschied and stepdaughter, Bonnie Dorsey.

Betty was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and the St. Joe Senior's. She was also a life member of the Dover VFW and Eagles. In her spare time Betty enjoyed playing cards and rooting for her Cleveland Indians.

A wonderful mother and grandmother, Betty will be sadly missed by her daughter, Vickie (husband, Bill) Kohl of Dover; sons, James (wife, Vonnie) Deal of Amsterdam and Robert (wife, Beverly) Deal of Elyria; brothers, Ray (wife, Pat) Espenschied of Dover, Bob (wife, Monya) Espenschied of Minerva and Butch (wife, Patsy) Espenschied of Tennessee; sisters, Verna Mae Smith of Dover, Marie Gano of Dover, Elsie (husband, Ward) Kutcher of New Philadelphia, Dorie Rowland of Tennessee, Maxine Robinson of Delroy, Helen Stewart of Tennessee and Wanda (husband, Ed) Dill of Alabama; grandchildren, Jon Salmen, Matt Dorsey, Missy Gatchel, Tina Marcus, Ricci Vincenzo, Chris and Brian Kohl and Laura Raymond and 17 great grandchildren.

A funeral mass will be held on Tuesday, January 12, 2010 at 10:30 am in the St. Joseph Catholic Church at Dover with Msgr. George Schlegel officiating. Interment will be in the Calvary Cemetery at Dover. Following the burial a luncheon will be held in the Toland-Herzig Monarch Center. Friends can call in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Homes and Crematory at Dover on Monday from 6-8 pm with Christian Wake services starting at 7:45 pm.
