Betty J. Kline, 83, of Dover passed away at Park Village Health Care Centre in Dover on Monday, May 5, 2014.

Born July 28, 1930 in Atlanta, Texas she was the daughter of the late Perit Long and Mattie Smith Long. Betty graduated in 1947 at the age of 16 from Atlanta Texas High School and attended Draughn's Business College in Dallas, Texas. She then went to Seattle, Washington where she was employed at Boeing Aircraft Company, where she met her husband to be, Lester Kline of Dover. They were married on June 25, 1952 at First Christian Church in Boise, Idaho. The couple would have celebrated their 62nd wedding anniversary. Betty Retired from the City of Dover as the assistant Auditor in 1998. She also worked at H & R Block doing taxes for over two years.

She was a member of the New Philadelphia Jaycee Wives. She and Les have enjoyed traveling to all 50 states, Canada, Europe, and Mexico since their retirement. During their trips, Betty kept a detailed diary. She also made a scrapbook of each of her children while they grew up. Betty and Les enjoyed traveling to their winter home in Florida for 12 years, where they would stay from January until April. She was a very talented and avid Bridge player and belonged to many Bridge Clubs with Les. Betty loved technology and was very good with the computer.

She is survived by her husband, Les; three daughters; Janet (Michael) Kinsey of Dennison, Pamela (Bruce) Ellwood of New Philadelphia, and Kimberly (Michael) Stotzer of Mineral City; son, Douglas Kline (Companion, Kelly Selby) of Dover; two sisters, Jewell (Edward) Follis of Omaha, Nebraska, and Charlene McCasland of Texarkana, eight grandchildren, Angela (Kevin) Hewitt, Christopher (Melissa) Kinsey, Amber Kinsey all of North Carolina, Tyler (Lauren) Ellwood of North Carolina, Zachary Ellwood (fianc, Summer) of New Philadelphia, Nicholas (Leah) Stotzer of Bolivar, Stephanie (Anthony) Pariano of Pennsylvania, Trenton Kline of Missouri; eight great-grandchildren, Steven Kinsey, Alexandria Hewitt, Carter Kinsey, Larissa Kincaid, Alexis and Mackenzie Ellwood all of North Carolina, Brianna and Brayden Stotzer of Bolivar.

She was preceded in death by her parents and six siblings.

A celebration of Betty's life will be held at the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory at Dover on Friday, May 9, 2014 at 1:00 pm with Dr. William C. Haggis officiating. Interment will take place at Dover Burial Park. Following the service of committal, a meal will be served at the Toland-Herzig Monarch Center. Friends are invited to call at the funeral home on Thursday, May 8, 2014 from 4-7pm.
