Betty J. Shumaker

Betty J. Shumaker, 88, of Dover died Friday, January 6, 2012 in the New Dawn Health Care Center at Dover.
Betty was a homemaker and had also worked at Nickles Bakery and Kreig Dry Cleaners.
Born January 7, 1923 in New Philadelphia she was a daughter of the late Jacob and Clara Schwartz Espenschied. Betty was also preceded in death by her husband, Jim Shumaker on October 4, 2000; sisters, Mary Mathias and Dorothy Stein; brother, Paul J. Espenschied and infant great granddaughter, Megan McMullen.
Betty was a member of Grace Lutheran Church and in her younger years she loved going dancing with her husband and a group of friends at the Sandy Valley Inn.
Betty is survived by her three children, Ruth (husband, John) West of Sandusky, Janie (husband, John) Buehler of Dover and Jim (wife, Carol) Shumaker of Jackson Township; five grandchildren, Diane (West) Foreman, Jeff West, Kelly (Buehler) McMullen, James Shumaker and Leslie Shumaker; three great grandchildren, Erin and Tyler Foreman and Rachel McMullen.
