Betty L. Everett, 82, of Dover died peacefully in the home of her daughter Beckie on Thursday, April 8, 2011 lovingly surrounded by her family.

Betty was born July 4, 1928 in Stone Creek, Ohio, the daughter of the late George and Ida (Stoller) Arbogast.

She retired in 1989 having worked in the cafeteria at Dover High School for 25 years. Her son, Robert (President of the Dover School Board) presented her with a plaque for her retirement and dedication to the Dover Schools.

Betty was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ in Dover where she was active in the Golden Oldies. A graduate of Stone Creek High School class of 1946, she continued her education at Wittenberg College. She was also a member of the Dover Eagles Auxiliary. She was an avid Cleveland Indians fan and enjoyed reading.

She will most of all be remembered as a devoted mother having raised her four children on her own following her husband, Robert"s sudden passing on November 3, 1964 when Betty was 36 years old. Her family was her life having loved spending time with her children and grandchildren.

She will be sadly missed by her four children Bobbi Everett (Nelson) Frey of Athens, Ohio, Beckie (Doug) Goudy of New Philadelphia, Lynnette (Tom) Sefcik of Hoover, Alabama, and Robert W (Tammi) Everett of Mesquite, Nevada; six grandchildren, Heidi Frey-Waters, Michael Haueter, Mark (Shelley) Haueter, Tiffani Everett, Stephanie Sefcik and Stacey Sefcik and a great granddaughter, Kyleigh Faith Haueter. In addition, she is survived by two nieces, Cynthia (Ken) Stevens and Renetta (Cliff) Endlich both of Stone Creek.

In addition to her parents and husband, Betty was preceded in death by her sister, Delores Kughler and her longtime companion, Earl Frey.

A celebration of Betty's life will be held Monday, April 11, 2011 at 11am in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory at Dover with Pastor Ed Shriver officiating. She will be laid to rest beside her husband, Robert at Stone Creek Cemetery. Friends will be received on Sunday from 2-5pm.
