Betty Lou Richardson, 83, of 1607 N. Wooster Ave., Dover, Ohio died New Year�(TM)s Day, 2006 in Union Hospital at Dover following an extended illness.
Born March 16, 1922 in New Philadelphia, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Ralph and Ruth Minnich Lehr.
Betty was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Dover where she was a former Sunday Schoolteacher. She was a 1940 graduate of New Philadelphia High School and then attended the Shuster-Martin School of Drama in Cincinnati. She was a member of the Alpha Pi Sigma Sorority. She enjoyed playing bridge and she and her friends played bridge for over 50 years.
She is survived by her husband, Jim Richardson with whom she would have celebrated 46 years of marriage this July 2; She is also survived by three sons, Gary Maholm of Holly Springs, Mississippi, Brad (Sharon) Maholm of Dover and Bill (Susan) Maholm of Largo, Florida; six grandchildren, Michael, Paul (Jessica), Bryan, Sarah, Matt, and Logan Maholm and many friends.
Betty was preceded in death by her daughter in law, Linda Maholm.
A funeral service celebrating Betty�(TM)s life will be held Friday, January 6, 2006 at 11am in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory in Dover with Pastors DeForest Winner and Larry Black officiating. Interment will be in the East Avenue Cemetery at New Philadelphia. A reception will follow in the Toland-Herzig Monarch Center. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday from 6-8pm.
