Betty Lou Parsons Rothacher, age 80, of Dover, Ohio passed away October 4, 2015 at the Community Hospice House in New Philadelphia after a courageous battle with lung cancer.
Born in Rock Castle, West Virginia on April 22, 1935, she was the daughter of the late Fred Parsons and Deby Ray Parsons Collar.
Betty retired from Handy & Harmon in 1994. She enjoyed gardening, fishing, crocheting and collecting brooches and breast pins.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond E. Rothacher, a son, Boyd M. Rothacher; brothers, Ralph, Larry and Billy Parsons and sisters, Ruby Lyles, Gladys Thoburn, and Nada Parsons and her stepfather, Frank Collar.
Betty is survived by her children, Bruce (Karen Slough) Rothacher and Beth (David) Beans both of Dover and Bev (Dave) Potts of New Philadelphia; grandchildren, Raena (Brandon Warfield) Beans of Dover, Andrew Potts of New Philadelphia, Darren (Gina Pietro) Beans of Casper, WY, and Ben (Marin) Potts of Fairfield, OH; great grandchildren, Lydia and Parker Warfield of Dover. She is also survived by a brother, Ola (Tizzie) Parsons and sisters, Shelby (Ilem) Weaver, Faye (Gene) Breehl and Connie Butler; sisters in law, Bertha Parsons, Laura Hidey, and brothers in law, Rudy (Sally) Rothacher and Larry (Carolyn) Rothacher along with many nieces and nephews.
There are no calling hours. Betty has been cremated and a private inurnment will be held at a later date in the Union Hill Cemetery at Sugarcreek.
