Betty M. Botdorf

Betty M. Botdorf, 95, of Dover died Wednesday, September 7, 2016 in the Hennis Care Centre.

Born January 29, 1921 in New Philadelphia she was a daughter of the late Rex and Idella Fisher Judd Dienst. Betty was also preceded in death by her husband, Raymond "Skeets" Botdorf on August 12, 2012; brother, Everett Dienst and sisters, Hazel Mast and Gladys Clark.

Betty had worked as a Secretary at Belmont Stamping and Enameling in New Philadelphia and was a Bookkeeper at ODOT. She was an active member of the First Christian Church in New Philadelphia where she was involved with the Master Builder Sunday School Class, Christian Missionary Guild and the Building Committee. She was also a member of the Tuscora Literary Club, Tuscarawas County Historical Society, where she served as a Trustee. Betty was a Poll worker at the Tuscarawas Country Board of Elections, and was a 1938 graduate of New Philadelphia High School.

Betty will be sadly missed by her sons, Eric (Linda) Botdorf of Dennison, Brian (Susan) Botdorf of Dover; two step-grandchildren, Christopher Chadwick, Brooke (Andrew) Meyer; three step great grandchildren, Devin Chadwick and Zack and Luke Meyer.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, September 12 at 1:30 pm in the First Christian Church at New Philadelphia with Pastor Jim Borton officiating. Interment will be in the East Avenue Cemetery. Friends can call at the church one hour prior to the service on Monday. The Toland-Herzig Funeral Home and Crematory at Dover is handling arrangements.
