Betty M. Rothacher

Betty M. Rothacher, 75, of Massillon, passed away on Friday, March 07, 2014 at her home surrounded by family.




Born on April 25, 1938 in Dover, she was the daughter of the late Robert F. and Helen Murphy Gerber. Betty was a 1956 graduate of Dover High School. She married George Rothacher, who preceded her in death in 1979. She is also preceded in death by her step-son, Tom Rothacher, and step-granddaughter, Kristy Rothacher.




Betty loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She had a love for animals and cherished her cat, Speedy. She retired from Park Village Health Care Centre, where she was a dishwasher. She was a member of the Dover Army Navy, Happy Hustlers of Winfield, and was also a 4-H advisor for many years.




Survivors include her son; Tim Rothacher of Dover; daughters, Gay (Jennifer) Rothacher-Williams of Massillon, Cathy (Randy) Grafe of Dennison; two sisters, Shirley Hendershot of Bolivar, Lucille (Carl) Logan of Doylestown, Ohio; brother, Glen (Patty) Gerber of Dover; three grandchildren, Tina Shull, Erika Owens, Randal Grafe; along with several step-grandchildren and great-grandchildren.




A celebration of Betty's life will take place at the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory in Dover on Saturday, March 15, 2014 at 10:00 am with Pastor Edward Morris officiating. Burial will follow at Dover Burial Park. Friends are invited to call at the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home in Dover on Friday, March 14, 2014 from 3-6 pm. Immediately following calling hours on Friday, a meal will be served at the Toland-Herzig Monarch Center.
