Betty Myers, 94, of Dover died Saturday, September 24, 2016 in The Laurels of Canton.
Born July 28, 1922 in Dover she was a daughter of the late Glenn and Helen Romine Williams. Betty was also preceded in death by her husband, John D. Myers on July 19, 1983; son, Dave Myers; granddaughter, Cory Myers and a daughter in law, Ellen (Seikel) Myers.
Betty was a graduate of Dover St. Joseph High School and the Mercy Hospital School of Nursing. She retired as a Registered Nurse from Park Village Health Care Center and was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. She and John were active in Cub Scouts, serving many years as District Training Chairmen. She organized the Dover St. Joe's and Tuscarawas Central Catholic's Mothers Clubs and was a member of the Brandywine and Pomona Grange where she and John were regular faces in the kitchen. Betty enjoyed many years of travel in the motor home, gardening, reading and playing cards with friends.
Betty is survived by her sons, Glenn Myers of Wyoming, Dan (Sandra) Myers of Canton, Robert (Mary) Myers of Akron; daughter in law, Susan Doughten of Seattle; grandchildren, Angela Vanest, Scott Myers, Stacey (Matt) Hunter, Jeremy (Jennifer) Withrow, Gretchen (Nate) Lunn, Justin and Jacob Corner and eight great grandchildren.
A funeral mass will be held on Wednesday, September 28 at 11:00 am in the St. Joseph Catholic Church with Fr. Jimmy Hatfield officiating. Interment will be in the Calvary Cemetery at Dover. Friends may call in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home and Crematory at Dover on Wednesday from 9:45 to 10:45 am.
