Beverly B. Root

Longtime Strasburg resident Beverly B. Root, 79, died Saturday, May 26, 2007 in the Hennis Care Centre at Dover.

She was born November 25, 1927 at Dover, the daughter of the late Samuel & Lula Hess Gordon.

Beverly was a member of the Lighthouse Outreach Center at Strasburg. She had a variety of interests ranging from Cleveland Indians baseball to country western music and square dancing. For many years, she also enjoyed playing cards and look forward to hosting card club.

Surviving family members include: two sons, Randy (Bonnie) Smith of Bolivar, and Troy Root of Youngstown; two daughters, Cindy (Ralph) Shidaker of Dover and Kelly Vickers of Strasburg; a brother, Eugene (Fran) Gordon of Florida; and four grandchildren, Chris Smith of Bolivar, Adam and Ashley Shidaker, both of Dover, and Kara German of Strasburg.

Pastor Jason Snyder will officiate a service that celebrates Beverly�(TM)s life on Tuesday, May 29, at 11:30 a.m. in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory, Dover. Friends may call in the funeral home one hour prior to services. Interment will be in the Grandview Union Cemetery, Strasburg. Following the burial, a meal for family and friends will be held in the Lighthouse Outreach Center at Strasburg.
