Beverly A. Hammerstrom

Beverly A. Hammerstrom, 92, of Dover passed away on Friday, January 31, 2025 in the Park Village Health Care Center at Dover. 

She was born on February 6, 1932, in Freeport, and was a daughter of the late Daniel and Viola Santee. Beverly was also preceded in death by her husband, Richard "Dick" Hammerstrom on January 26, 2013; son, Chad Hammerstrom and brother and sister in law, Derrel (Dorothy) Santee.

Before motherhood, Beverly dedicated her talents to young minds as an art teacher at the Wooster Highway School in Parral. Following the early years of raising her children, she continued to share her passion for art by teaching classes from her home. She also enjoyed decorating a tree for the Warthers Museum Christmas Tree Festival, a tradition that highlighted her love for the holiday season. She was an avid gardener and found great satisfaction in cultivating her flower garden. Her dedication and skill led to her being awarded Best of Show at the Tuscarawas County Fair at the age of 85. She volunteered her time with Hospice Browse and Buy, and was a proud member of the First United Methodist Church in New Philadelphia.

She leaves behind her children, Chet Hammerstrom (companion, Holly Ciekanski and her daughter BJ), and Holly (Steve) Rieger of Dover. Beverly is also survived by her brother, Denver (Mary Jane) Santee of Westerville.

Cremation has been entrusted to the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home and Crematory at Dover. Private graveside services will be held at a later date.
