Bonita Parker West

Bonita Parker West, age 71, of Oak Pointe Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Baltic, passed away peacefully there Sunday, August 9, 2015.

Born January 12, 1944, in Leavittsville, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Ruby Maxine (Hidey) Parker. Bonita attended Conotton Valley High School, and was employed by Snyder Manufacturing in Dover, until an injury made it impossible for her to continue her employment there. Never one to be idle, Bonita attended technical school and became a computer programmer; she also obtained her pilot's license, which she was very proud of.

In her spare time, she enjoyed travel, cooking and listening to country music. She made a point of always being friendly and kind.

Survivors include her daughters, Nancy (Dan) Hurst of Dover, and Kendra West (Sean) Webber of Hawaii; her five grandchildren; her sister, Judith Parker (John) Blott of New Philadelphia; her brother, Robert (Merri) Parker of Uhrichsville; her half-sister, Kelly Kazee of Nevada; and her many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Bonita was preceded in death by her son, Rodney Felgenhauer; and her brother, Jon Paul Parker.

A funeral service will be held Wednesday (today) at 1:30 p.m. in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory with Pastor David Wing officiating. Burial will be in Leavittsville Cemetery.
