Bonnie L. Mentro

Bonnie L. Mentro, 77, of Dover passed away on Monday, May 24, 2021 in the Country Club Retirement Community at Dover.

Bonnie was born on July 2, 1943 as was the daughter of the late Leroy and Caroline Larsen Herbert. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Ronald Mentro on August 25, 1987; and her brother, Douglas Herbert.

Bonnie had a soft spot for children; she operated a day care from her home for many years and also volunteered at St. Joe’s pre-school. She enjoyed reading and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

Bonnie is survived by her children, Bryan Mentro of Florida, Melissa Steed of Dover, Laura (Wesley) Eddy of Avon; grandchildren, Jeremiah, Jonathan, Emma, Blake, Tyler; and her long-time companion, Al Smith.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 28th starting at 11:00 am in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home and Crematory at Dover. Interment will be in the St. Joseph Calvary Cemetery at Dover. The family will be greeting friends one hour prior to the service on Friday.
