Bonnie L. Welsh, age 76, of Strasburg, passed away Wednesday, December 26, 2018, after battling cancer.
Born March 10, 1942, in Dover, she was a daughter of the late Robert and Alice Rittmaier Hartline. Bonnie graduated from Beach City High School, and, on April 27, 1963, married Timothy J. “Tim” Welsh. The couple shared forty-seven years of marriage and reared three sons prior to Tim’s passing on June 27, 2010. Bonnie was a loving homemaker and a member of the Church of the Holy Trinity, Bolivar. She enjoyed cooking and baking for her family, loved animals of all kinds, and was a good friend. Additionally, Bonnie liked to walk, she looked for and collected arrowheads, and she frequented garage sales.
Survivors include her sons, Dan Welsh and Kelly (wife, Ann Nicholls) Welsh, both of Strasburg, and Tim (wife,Tracy) Welsh of Clinton; her grandchildren, Luke, Anna, John and Henry Welsh; her sister, her twin, Connie (husband, Robert) Barnett of Tippecanoe; her two nephews; and her beloved dog, Sparky.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, December 31, at 11 a.m., in the Church of the Holy Trinity, with Fr. Jeff Coning officiating. Those planning to attend are asked to go directly to the church the morning of the Mass. Burial will follow in Strasburg’s St. Aloysius Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to call at the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory, Dover, on Sunday, December 30, 2 - 5 p.m. A Christian wake service will be held Sunday at 4:45 p.m. in the funeral home.
