Bradley Jay Holcomb, 58, a proud veteran of the United States Navy, passed away Sunday, August 27, 2023, after a period of declining health due to complications from multiple strokes.
The son of Delbert and Eleanor (Van Meter) Holcomb, Bradley grew up in Dover, Ohio. He was born on October 14, 1964 and was a graduate of Dover High School and Buckeye Career Center.
Following graduation, Bradley enlisted in the United States Navy. He valued this service highly and served aboard the USS Skate, USS Indianapolis, USS Chicago, and USS George Washington Carver. During this time he resided in California, Connecticut, Hawaii, Wisconsin, and Michigan. Brad spent his last years living in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan until his illness took him back to Wisconsin to a medical facility there.
After his departure from the Navy he decided to reenlist in 2006 to serve in Al Asad, Iraq, as a supply corps officer with the Naval Mobile Construction Battalion TWO FIVE (Seabees) in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. Brad cherished the friends he made while in the service.
